Front Load Washing Machine - Loading Question

Anyone can advise or knowledge on the following (esp on European brand)?

Take BOSCH 7kg washing machine for example.

Using Cotton 40C setting, a full load (7kg) will take 2.5hrs - 3hrs. This is way too long for us.

If we set to other setting (e.g. Mix load), the washing will be about 1.5hrs. But the manual states that it has to be 3.5kg load

What will happen if I use this Mix Load setting but our clothing loading is about 7kg (full load)? Will it still function? or clothes will not be washed properly? I am nor sure what will be the problem if I used this approach

Yes. Your wm should still function, but just that you are overloading the machine. So wm may not last as long as you want.
Why don't you try to wash the clothes with just cold water? I find that setting the temp will increase the washing time. Also, if you have the quick wash function, that can further shorten the time. But provided your clothes are the not-so-dirty kind (like wear at home clothes), else clothes will not be clean.

At the showroom to test, when I set to "Cold" with quick wash, the loading indicate 5kg only. Without the quick wash setting, it will take 2:40hr to wash a full load of 7kg

Seems like european brand takes long washing cycle. Not so sure about asia brand such as samsung or LG

If you constantly need to wash a lot of clothes, then maybe you should get one that can cope with a bigger load. For Bosch, I think there is a 8kg or 8.5kg one.
Had a Samsung before and wash cycle is definitely shorter. Think the quick wash is like 30 mins only but I cannot rem at what load. But noisy when spinning, even when it was new. Bosch is v quiet.

Front loaders always seem to have longer cycles than top loaders. I prefer to use cold/quick wash cycles and wash less with each load - it takes shorter overall (my quick wash is only 30 mins, 35 mins if I want 40C water), and I can separate the colours better. Most of my clothes aren't that dirty, and we presoak the sweaty ones.

My samsung front load takes 1hr 11min for daily wash at room temperature and 4 rinses. Rinses will also determine how long it takes. Yes, generally front load takes a much longer time compared with top load.

But hor...my 2 year old samsung recently had to have its pcb board changed ($200+ for the 'repair). Incidentally, a friend's samsung front loaded also encountered same problem. Quite pek chek.

My washer is Bosch, 7kg n set at Cotton 40C - full load. The wash (just did my laundry) lasts for only 1 hr 20 mins. I do not know why do you say it takes 2.5 - 3 hrs.

Did you hearsay or did you really try it out?

Mine is a 11.5 yo Bosch front load 7kg. I always use quick wash with one additional rinse cycle 40 deg full load. Takes about one hour. If full wash is at least 2 hrs.

I went to Harvey Norman and there is a display set with power on. It is BOSCH AvantiXX 8kg washing machine. There is LED display showing the timing and loading when I turned to different setting.

When I turn the knob to Cotton 40C, the display will show 8kg 2:40hrs. If I press the SpeedPerfect button, the display will show 5kg 1:08hrs.

I tried various programme and those with less than 1:30hrs the loading display will show only 3.5Kg. I download the operating manual from the Internet and it also listed similar timing with the various programme setting that I have tried.

Thus I am also puzzled why need so long (based on operating manual and empty load LCD display)

What is the model for your BOSCH washing machine. Maybe should get yours since it is field proven

That is a good approach. Use 30min quick wash and we can separate into 2 loads
