I am posting my personal experience below. Hoping you can take note of this FDW and consider before employing her.

My FDW name is Amelita Calero 38 years old from Philippines. She has prior working experience in SG. On the day of fetching her from agency, she asked if can off only once a month but our agreement was weekly off and also as per contract. I employ her in Sep15 and she asked for transfer after a week. We are pleased with her performance and persuaded her to stay. Reason given was too much workload and we reduce for her. She also say need to contact her sister and bro in law in SG for money issues but no. seems wrong. So I help her call home a few times. She is allergy to most detergents like CIF, Vanish, etc but did not declare in her biodata. We only realize after I saw redness on her hand during 1st week. No choice we provided her with gloves and waterproof shoes.

After 1st month we asked again and her reply was: " See how lah, month by month." Meaning see how I am being treated each month and decide. Then started hinting me her ex employer buy phone card, vitamins for her and bring her to Msia and their house no need do hand wash and no double bed. She complain our Queen mattress too heavy and her ex employer was a divorcee. Then just after 2nd month she told us her decision is still to transfer and reason is she cannot stand how we lecture our misbehaved son, no privacy coz door cannot close (as per contract is a shared bedroom with my son although he dun sleep there), etc. So we all and agent agreed she can leave after new maid is here.

On 25Dec we let her go off since she has cleared her loan. On 27Dec she asked to go church and my HB say cannot coz she just had off day but say will talk when he come back. Mil went back to room to rest and me and my son still sleeping. She left the house. Did not go to agent and we reported police. Next day I called and found her at HOME@Lucky Plaza. HOME called me after interviewing her and say why no privacy coz I had a camera in my son room. It was there all along to see if my son misbehave. And I have told her not to change clothes in the room. It is a shared room so even no camera at night my son also in the room. I was shocked why HOME protected them and just listen to one side of the story as if I ill treat her. Quite piss off I have to buy air ticket send her home. They do not even let her go agency and only keep asking if we have bought air ticket. Tell us send over her luggage make sure nothing is missing!!! Excuse me I have not even check her handbag which she brought out when running away. Who will steal whose things? She had it all planned as the day before she asked my HB if we going market the next day.

Really sick of these cunning maids. They are so good in acting innocent and twist around facts. We good employers are totally not protected. Maid come 1 day and want go home we pay. In correct biodata also we bear. Everything also we pay. Agency and their association only say one word "Luck". And MOM ask us go after agent. Nobody protect us at all. Very unfair treatment. Only blame we nothing to do only pay for trouble.

My FDW will be flying back on 1Jan and I believe she will apply to come SG in few months time. Please keep a lookout and really consider if you do see her Biodata.

I feel for you..... Our MOM is so pro maid that this is becoming rampant.

I have never trusted them. Being nice and fair but always be on our guard. I'm into my fifth maid in a year. All my previous maids completed their contracts and happy. Recently one year has been a turbulent one

Yours also from which country? My first 2 are Indonesians only work for 3 months each. 1st one make my son fell dwn n cut his head...blood gush out all over...2nd one hide scissors and want to clear loan n go...3rd one from Philippines work 1yr 7mths not fantastic but ok for us...4th one is this super lousy one...now my new 5th maid is from Indonesian....pray hard ok.

Hi all, my former myanmese maid by name MYO PaPa aged 24/25yo who asked to return to her home country after 13mo mid-dec 2015. Bought her an air ticket for the next day and did a quick check of her personal belongings before she left, she took a pair of diamond earrings, a gold chain, and money too. She did not admit initially she stole the diamond jewellery until I brought her to the jeweller for verification in front of her. Was not at all apologetic and no sense of remorse. The gold chain was returned to us after we came back from the jeweller. Went to police with the evidence but did not lodge the report as the process of investigation according to the police takes time (the police saw the evidence and asked me whether they need to go down with me back home should she turn uncontrollable). After considering that I have already cancelled the work permit after buying the air ticket, and did not want see more of her, I sent her straight to the airport. At the airport, she still maintained her straight face with no remorse before check in and during check in.

There's no way I can blacklist her at MOM except for being a character referee.

Guess what she has just submitted her request to work in Singapore again as per the Url.

On a separate note, she is also not 24/25yo as claimed. She is only 18yo as she told us when she came to work in our household. She only did general housecleaning, did not look after 2yo and no marketing as claimed in her latest bio data.

ya we employers get bullied and no organisation willing to stand up for us...still think we ill treat them...small little things say unfair for them...in the first place they never do their job properly but only here to request for things...too much...suppose to be here help us out ended up always tell us about their family problems and expect us to help them...which family got no problem??? Who will help us??? Why employ them to give us extra problem? very sick of their story...usually I dun chat with them unless ask them do things...talk more they overstep on us. Ended up 2 of my FDW tell agent I dun like them juz becoz I dun talk much...another one day we talk too loudly cannot stand...very hard to please.

I can't agree more that they are here to add problem to us. Cannot stand it when they make those ridiculous requests. My one even requested to go back for home leave during hari Raya even though contracted stated that she is only entitled to that after 2years. She was only 5mths with us when she told me she is going by to buy air ticket to fly back during hari Raya in July. My hb told her cannot and even said he will pay the air ticket if she already booked and can't cancel.

Then on and off she would tell me she needs to go out to run personal errands during work hrs. This is too much becoz she does have off days, and cannot understand why she cannot use the off days to do these personal stuff.

I think maid woes are inevitable. Mine just returned to Myanmar. She’s capable but the next employer will have to be prepared for manipulation, lies (a lot), damages (a lot a lot) to household stuff and revenge (when she gets corrected or when she doesn’t get her way). The most ridiculous was she pried open my Iphone and denied (unfortunately, she was caught on cctv).

While she was efficient throughout her term with us, there was quite a fair bit of mind games. It was hellish during the period when she insisted on going back.
