Just for info, there's a Facebook site that has transfer helpers listed, and where employers can also post requirements & direct hire: https://m.facebook.com/sg.helpers.direct/

There are several other Facebook sites that are (almost) similarly named, but operated by agencies, but above link is a closed group, that you have to request to join.

Fortunately MOM's online WP application platform is clear & simple to manoeuvre around that employers can save $$ & direct hire transfer helpers, without going through agencies.

Hi, to be frankly, the maid on the facebook group shared is not suitable for most local family. They like Western expats.
Thanks

Yes. Most helpers who are savvy to go on FB are looking to improve their pay & East life with expat families who dare not abuse or overly demand their commitment.

I was taken aback to note large numbers of helpers who go online to ‘market’ themselves & many with less than a year experience asking to jump to $600-700. Most who’ve crossed 2-4 years’ experience asking for $800-1000! And those include Indo & Pino helpers.

I’ve once employed a Pino helper with 5 years’ working Eco in SG, but my horrors after she came in not able to cook, don't watch her hygiene & managed to persuade me for $600 with weekly rest days! That’s also not for caring elderly as my elderly do not stay with me. She was working in a household of 3 adults and aN elderly who has dementia. Her job is only to sit with the elderly. After she joined my h’hold 10 years ago, She was haughty & reactive time my guidance for cleaning hygiene & habits of covering food... many more stresses in trying to train someone to unlearn poor habits.

Today, I stay away fr Pinos coz I cannot handle their haughty attitude of entitlement. My family started our journey engaging Indo helpers & had some almost 8 years of very good relationships, until we bless her with a bonus to return home to spend time bond with her children separated in the care of 2 relatives, we had nvr found good ones, except when I started with Mynmar helpers. My 1st was a transferred helper, discovered she was underaged & not in her right mind (some incident of male eyer sexual abuse). But subsequent Mynmar girls did very well. My current helper had nvr seen the world outside of Mynmar. Within 3-5 months, she was not only capable handle entire h’hold cleaning & washing, she was able to cook most basic meals. Within 3 mths, we trusted her to go on weekly off-days. She’s not only humble but trustworthy. Within the year, I trusted her for marketing on her own. She’s now a very accomplished cook in the family, her cooking role only threatened when my kids wants to take over to whip up a new dish. But it’s like she’s in competition. She 偷师 picking up on new dishes on her own observation whilst helping out. She’s no where asking for high pay & we’ve been paying compensation for her presence during CB. She’s just family.

Just sharing & highly suggests to look out for recommendations thro frds or if u hv direct source in yr regular visits to the preferred source country. You can possibly avoid a lot more stress for yr family & not add to the unrealistic expectations of some helpers.

Thanks for the great sharing.
The government shall also protect our benefit. Just feel the helpers are taking advantage over employer.

Yes. Some initially, and subsequently more were emboldened to take this advantage - stealing, requesting (or given generously by some desperate eyers to retain them), to entitles mentality and finally some Eyers were demanded all sorts.

I’ve encountered one helper buying an extra new cake mixer my hubby bought for me. Having alr reduced & agreed on her purchase price, when we met, she wanted a further discount with remark that “you Sporeans very rich can also give me for free?”. I gave her my piece of mind to put her back in place. Price agreed, honor it, owise I’m not selling to her. Even if someone is reach, it’s not the way I want to waste nor give freely without hard working out in. The audacity of this pino maid.

I’ve repatriate those who hv such attitude problem despite agents (ano greedy irresponsible lot of fellow Sporean owners) refusing to release them back to unsuspecting fellow Sporeans. I then started searching for my direct hires.

Update: Potential employer found :)

Hi all! Posting on behalf of my Indonesian helper to transfer her to a new employer.
We can do the transfer almost immediately with a few days notice.

Name: Ade K
Country: Batam, Indonesia
Age: 43
Religion: Muslim (but can handle pork)
Marital Status: Married with kids
Total Length in SG: 3-4 years
Languages: English, Bahasa Melayu
*Sundays off (1 day off per week)

My family hired her to assist with household chores and cooking, and to provide caregiving for my elderly mother. My mother passed away recently, and as our household is small and due to financial constraints, we have agreed to find new employment for her.

*Strong preference in caring for elderly, rather than kids
*For Elderly: Knows how to bathe, feed, and massage them, move them around (eg. bed to wheelchair), bring them for appointments, keep track of medication
*Willing to learn new things eg. learnt to cook the same recipes as my mother
*Friendly and willing to engage in conversation
*Okay with being around pets
*Has worked in both big and small households

Am not an agent, thus anyone interested in hiring her, we can handle the transfer between the two of us directly.
You can contact me via PM here, or email me at [email protected]

I need a helper who is able to work with elderly (ah ma is independent and speak Chinese/Cantonese), cooking and general housekeeping. Let me know if you have a pleasant helper available for transfer now or within the next few months. Please email me at [email protected]. Thanks.
