Is it possible to bring in a Myanmar maid without going through an agency ? If heard from someone (a Myanmar guy) that nowadays it is very difficult.
He had to fly over there to get it processed so the worker could be allowed to leave

H W W,

No need to fly over. Just buy 2-way tic unlike previously one-way. With 2-way tic the Yangon immigration will still ask the girl where she's going & why. Usually, the girl can just say she's visiting friends.

I recently mobilized my own new girl, who totally never travelled out to Spore except travelled to India to work. She must not be nervous tho. Mynmar govt had stated they don't want their nationals to work as FDW for many years, but never enforced.

H W W,

1. Select yr new helper (must hv at least Year 10 edn cert; must be at least 23 years old)

2. Apply MOM online with yr SingPass. If no bad record for both eyer & FDW, in-principle approval given same day. My recent helper I applied in afternn expecting approval only next day, but by ard 10pm, I saw it was approved.

3. Go NTUC Income website to check which package you want to purchase (e.g. Normal pkg or to incl run-away pkg).

4. Call NTUC Income to purchase FDW Ins & ask for soft-copy (so u can send to FDW via email).

5. Agree with yr new FDW when she can travel, fix date & purchase air-tic. JetStar is so far cheapest with no luggage purchased.

6. Send the relevant portion of WP doc (minus yr personal details), NTUC Income FDW Ins, online air-tic

ALL THESE DONE at yr convenience. No need ran ard town.

7. Pick up ur helper fr airport.

8. Send for medical at SATA (I choose SATA coz full medical can be done one-stop. Go early in morning & within 1 HR I can bring mynhelper home).

9. If she's totally new to Spore as FDW, need to send her for one day Settling-In course. Pre-book this before her arrival. I overlooked & my new FDW only attended 1 week later. Thankfully no penalty for this coz not many centres run course.

10. Once medical report arrives. She can get her thumbprint done at MOM & MOM will send the new WP card to yr doorsteps.

Hope abv helps & I didn't miss any steps.
