All come either havent finish 2 years contract or immediately finish loan, colours come out.
My longest maid was a myanmar who work with me for only 1.5 years. She have been working in Singapore previously for 5 years but her English is still terrible, I endure becoz my kids are small, as long as don't create big problems, well behave usually I close one eye. Haven't reach 2 years contract, she said her mum is v sick (apparently I heard they will always use this as an excuse) need to go back.
Now I took a filipino maid, as usual during interview, everything can do, can work, love kids. After finish loan, start to show attitude, always pull long face. She have 2 kids but whenever she have house problems, she will bring it to our house, just keep pulling long face, will not answer you when u tell her off. Weekly off day is the happiest, early morning leave the house come back so so so happy. the next day, pull long face again.
Last nite told me, her son need to have a very minor operation and want her to be around, ask me how?
Finish clearing loan and take full salary for only 4 mths. I told her how can I afford to take last min leave and let you go back?
My work is already so shorthanded and I can't possibly last min take 2 weeks leave when another colleague is on maternity.
She told her sis (who married to Singapore) that she can just advance $ from me to pay for her salary, which I didn't even
give consent at all. The ending question again she ask how? So I have to pay for her son operation + her air ticket?

I really really hire maid until so frustrated..
how do you know what she is saying is real? Is it possible she just wants a free ride home?

Just to let all know, it is MOM regulations for employer to buy the air ticket and ensure that the foreigner leave SG. Only then can your $5000 bond be discharged.

Hi, my Fillipino maid just came back to tell me that i need to sign a new 2 year contract with her in order to renew her passport which is expiring in August 2017. Her existing contract is until December 2017 so I'm not sure why I need to sign a new 2 year contract now.

We called the maid agency who gave her this advice and they bluntly said that it is requested by the Philippines Embassy and that we have to sign.

Did anyone encounter this before? We are not sure if we want to keep her for another 2 years so we don't want to be threatened to sign for no reason.

1. Is this a real requirement for passport renewal for Filipino FDW?
2. If I don't renew her passport, is there any problem when it expires?
3. Are employers obliged to renew the passport for the FDW?

(I am aware that I could also try to ask the embassy, but just want to check first if anyone else encountered same situation)
Thanks.

Hi
If you not renewing her contract. As long as her passport has not expire when she fly home (one way) she can still board the plane back to her home country.
