Hi titank

Saw that you consider River Valley as a choice. I went to the schoold today. For P1 they run in the afternoon while P2 to P6 are in the morning. I also understand from them that they started balleting under phase 2C last year. So all he earlier phases secures a place.

2012 P1 Registration Balloting Statistics (SC<1km, 1km<SC<2km, SC>2km, PR<1km, 1km<PR<2km, PR>2km)

P2B

Anglo-Chinese School (Junior), cont - 22 applicants vs 1 place
River Valley Primary - 19 applicants vs 11 places
St Margaret’s Primary
Stamford Primary

P2C

Anglo-Chinese School (Junior) - 57 applicants vs 54 places
River Valley Primary - 5 applicants vs 1 place
St Margaret’s Primary - 55 applicants vs 54 places
Stamford Primary

I do not know how does RVPS fare in terms of the PSLE score in thier past years. There is 1 parent that told me that RVPS is either good in Language (English or Mandarin) or Maths, Science.

They are good in one of them. Wow must ballot in Phase 2C? Like that have to do volunteer liao

See here.

PSLE+ : School with at least 1 student scoring above 275 in PSLE in any year. That's pretty much "genius" level.

PSLE* : School with at least 1 of the top 10 scorers in the nation for PSLE in any year.

I believe mincy is referring to River Valley High School which is indeed a SAP school. River Valley Primary School is not designated as a SAP school even though it does offer Higher Chinese for more capable students.

There are 15 Primary SAP schools:
Since 1990:
1. Ai Tong School
2. Catholic High School (Primary)
3. CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ School (Primary)
4. Maha Bodhi School
5. Maris Stella High School (Primary)
6. Nan Hua Primary School
7. Nanyang Primary School
8. Pei Chun Public School
9. Red Swastika School
10. Tao Nan School

Since 1992:
11. Holy Innocents’ Primary School
12. Hong Wen School
13. Kong Hwa School
14. Pei Hwa Presbyterian Primary School
15. Poi Ching School

There are 9 Secondary SAP Schools:
1. Anglican High School
2. Catholic High School
3. CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ School
4. Chung Cheng High School (Main)
5. Dunman High School
6. Hwa Chong Institution (High School Section)
7. Maris Stella High School
8. Nanyang Girls’ High School
9. River Valley High School
