It's supposed to be that way, but a lot of people still rent out and use the address.

Not in black and white...the owner doesn't enjoy the right once he is NOT staying there. Like this enjoy best of both worlds  ...rent out to get money but yet using that address to register for p1 when not staying there.

I think they have tightened this. Once use for registration, must stay for at least 30 months from date of registration this year.

Re: *** READ ME FIRST !!! - P1 Registration FAQ ***

Post by padipanda » Wed Apr 13, 2016 10:53 am

Hi,
Newbie here and would like to check on the following:
I would like to do PV at my preferred school to qualify for 2B.
However comes registration I am thinking of registering my son in my old school under 2A2, then monitor the chances of my preferred school under 2B. If there is a high chance then I register him under 2B, if not just stay put. Can that be done? Or once I register under 2A2, I will automatically have to go under 2C? Anybody can help, please. Thanks a million.

Yes, you can.

You would need to withdraw from your old school before you can register at PV school.
