Despite both schools being almost next door to each other, Teck Ghee is more centralised, so has higher catchment. This means that Teck Ghee usually is oversubscribed in round 2, but Townsville has space available to Round 2CS, along with PR & Foreigners. Thus, Teck Ghee is a very Singaporean school with most students coming from within 2km radius. Townsville has a slightly more varied cohort, as it's preferred "2nd choice" for those local who miss out on elite schools in Bishan, along with non-Singaporeans who get allocated there. Teck Ghee has a slightly more academic focus, whereas Townsville is stronger in arts. Townsville school campus is brighter, bigger and more spacious; Teck Ghee is highly built up with a new indoor sports hall opened last year. Both are great neighbourhood schools.

Definitely possible to walk, but more than 1km walk is not advisable, 20min or more. You can try to walk a few times to decide.
