Bukit View Primary School

Dear Parents

My boy is going to P1 next year, we are thinking to register him to Bukit View Primary School because there is a in-house student care centre.

I'm a bit of worry, the registration will be under Phase 2C and more than 1km less than 2 km.

I recently just know about this school with student care centre service. Is there anyone know how is the Bukit View Primary School & how is their student care centre?

Thanks

Last year at Phase 2C there are only 59 applicants out of 150 vacancies....so there shouldn't be any problem even if you live more than 1km. :)

Hi

I have successful registered my son to BVPS & the Student Care Centre.

Is anyone can advise me whether should I let my son go to student care centre in this Dec 08 or next year when school reopen? currently he is in the childcare.

Hi socks,
I guess that its popularity is based on the following...
1) Affiliation to SJI and St Patrick Sec
2) All (except for Languages) subject passes and quality passes (ie A* & A) are above National Average - see this
3) Catholics prefer their kids to be in a religious-based school maybe????

Hi little patrick,
My views may be a bit late, but as to when to let your son start student care depends on...
1) does the studentcare allow you to join during Dec 08 or next year?
2) can your kid cope with going to 2 new environment at the same time next year...ie he has to cope with the school's environment/study culture as well the studentcare's regime/timetable at the same time.

As the student care is situated inside the school and that your kid who is currently in childcare (meaning that he is exposed to under others' care for the whole day), adapting to studentcare should not be a problem.

You may also wish to find out from the studentcare as to the P1 group that your kid is joining, are the students starting in Dec 08 or next year, cos if majority start in Dec 08, it'll be good to let your son join in as they can bond over the holidays instead of letting your kid be the 'new kid' at the studentcare P1-group when the school term starts.

JMHO.
