Hello,

We recently got our SC and would like to gather more information. There are not many good primary schools near where we live right now. So the plan is to either buy/ rent a place within 1Km of a good school. We don't want to enrol our daughter to a school which focuses on rote learning and just academics. The school should have good diversity and inclusion.
I am reading up more and more about schools and their approaches but it is very exhausting.

I have shortlisted a few schools and would like to know what are our chances of getting admission in these schools, if we secure a place within 1km. Daughter will be eligible for Phase 2C.

North-East
Rosyth
Paya Lebar methodist Girls

East
Haig Girls
CHIJ Katong
Kong Hwa
Maha Bodhi

These are a few we have shortlisted so-far. Ou goal would be to get a place which is near atleast 2-3 good schools so even if we don't secure a place in our school of choice, we can try for others.

Very confused and overwhelmed with the entire process. Hope to gain some insights and better vision on how to proceed further.

Many Thanks
Take PLMGS, <1km 2C chances were high and afflicated.
CHIJ Katong <1km sure in, also affiliated.

Haig girls might be good for 2CS backup.
The other 3 too hot even for <1km
Thanks for your response.

Pardon my ignorance, why isn't CHIJ Katong more sought after as the other CHIJ schools?
How would you rate Haig Girls?

Also, what are the chances of getting into TKPS if beyond 2km?

We will most likely find a place in Marine Parade area, but might not be before registration for P1.

Thanks

For SC, should be guaranteed for TKPS Phase 2C.

Anyone experienced staying less than 100m outside of the 1 km border and the school allow you to ballot as <1km?

1cm or 0.01cm also cannot.

The official measurement used by MOE is OneMap School Query. Only if the holy OneMap it says you’re <1km then you’re <1km.

Hi everyone,

I am sure this question has been asked before but with the number of pages reaching 200 even the search function has not been able to help me here.

Anyway my question/situation is:

If I rent a place within 1km of the school I wish to enrol my child into and we are successful in 2C with the address used as the admitting factor (so no parent volunteering etc) would I be allowed to then buy a place that still remains within that 1km radius and move there for the mandatory 30 month period. We would definitely be staying within 1km and it may even be within the same building. However, would that be allowed?

I wonder if anyone has had experience with this.

Thanks in advance.
