In fact, some years SJIJ dont even need to ballot at <1km.
SG50 babies... could end up being similar to this year.
Guess some people are not willing to take the risk.

This is indeed a super good job. Considering this year being the admission of Dragon babies, I am thinking the number of GRC applications will go up by 25% (I am thinking about schools that restrict PVs and not attached to any church or so), then the phase 2B applications may go up by 10% if the number of PVs remain same. Given this, for example a school like Rulang also is a touch and go (the number of PVCs are controlled at 16 or 18), with only a buffer strenth of 4. What is your opinion?
Traditionally 2b applicants was around 25-27 so it’s a close call. Sometimes you need some “help” from those folks from the earlier phases to withdraw which this year is tougher since it is more competitive. So in the end it’s distance priority will determine the fate of the people here. If one is under 2B of Rulang and more than 2km, it will be tough.

Since we are on the rulang subject, the likely odds for rulang could be around 2.5 to 1 vacancy this year for 2C.
Hi Lexy:
Where do you get this statistics? Else, can you provide me the No of applicants from 2013 to 2017 at Rulang in Phase 2B? Thanks in advance.
You have made the move since you started PV, all you can do is stick to it and pray hard. If you have other 2B alternative, you may have to use it. If touch wood, the number exceeds - put in the waitlist and continue to 2C.

There’s no difference. The parent registering the child on the last day at the final minute has an equal opportunity to be admitted/ballot compared to the first parent registered the child on the first day at the first minute.

I guess the only difference is on the last day, you will know whether the school is balloting under which category and that may be important for your consideration depending on your risk appetite.

zac's mum wrote:Most definitely balloting. SHHK may have controlled the issuance of letters extremely finely until exactly 20 letters given out for ATS applicants (and I heard this does happen)...BUT all it takes is just one GRL to apply and it will be thrown into balloting situation. And believe me, GRL will surely be game for the fight. I don’t foresee any of them living within 1km yet backing down from this chance. CHS is also exactly 20 seats. They may waver between the 2 schools (if they have a boy), but quite high chance both schools also will ballot for 2B and 2C.
the last i heard from a SHHK fren, about 26 letters were issued this yr (2018).
even for last yr under 2b, they had balloting within 1km. unless you are staying within 1km from ATS, else it would be better to consider other schools.

Does anyone have any idea why Angsana isn't as popular as the other schools in the same vicinity? Like Tampines Primary, Chongzheng, Yumin, etc? Their enrolment figures seems consistently low since 2015 despite the higher no. of vacancies available. :scratchhead:
Considering it as our 2Cs back-up. Appreciate any thoughts/feedback on this school.

SJI, St Andrew’s and Maris Stella would not have any vacancies in 2C(S). The only optiion left is likely to be St Gabriel’s.

If you’re looking at boys school, Monfort, Junior and St Stephen’s are possible options for you if you arnt residing too far from them.
