1A and 1B Character Cards - How to use

Postby himmel » Sun Nov 04, 2012 6:12 am

Hi. I was given 2 boxes of 1A and 1B character cards. Can someone advise how to use it? There's no pinyin behind the card...

Most of the school teacher will never use this cards as teaching material.
So parents need to practise with kids at home, learn how to read, how to write ,what is the meaning, how to form a sentence.
If kids can master it,it will help to strenghten their foundation, sooner or later they will find out learning Chinese is so enjoyable.
Anyway,I am a tutor, that why i know the factor why a lot of students dislike Chinese.

The word cards are good for recognizing of characters. Do word games like

1) Put 8-10 cards on the floor, read a character and get your child to pick it out.

2)Or point to a card and get your child to pronounce.

3) as you advance, you can do word match like

书 (读书/看书/书包/书本)

The individual characters can all be found in the P1A, 1B boxes.

4) find cards that can be arranged into a sentence.

我/喜/欢/读/书/和/写/字

Mess them up on the floor and you can get your child to arrange them. It will help to strengthen basic sentence structure.

Hope my suggestions help.

word matching will be good to get them to know more 词汇. i made my dc read out those words every time they request to go to the playground.. if any mistakes, cannot go... and after that i progress to get them to write them, any mistakes, cannot go too...

dun throw them away as they are useful to help them remember the words, a lot better than reading them in textbooks..
