## Q&A - P3 Math

Hiyeonee wrote:Can someone help me with this question?

45 blue balls and 12 green balls were put into a basket containing some blue and green balls. There were 23 more blue balls than green balls in the end. How many fewer blue balls than green balls were there in the basket at first?

45 – (23 +12) = 10

There are 10 fewer blue balls than green balls in the basket at first.

Hiyeonee wrote:Hi, another question:-

A packet of cookies was shared equally among 9 children. If 4 more children joined in, each child would get 8 fewer cookies. How many cookies were there in the packet?

9*8 = 72

72/4 = 18

18 + 9 = 26

*26*9 = 234*

There were 234 cookies in the packet.

There were 234 cookies in the packet.

Hi, if there were 26 cookies, how can it be shared equally among 9 children? I thought it's a guess and check question. My answer is 18 cos' I thought each child will get 2 cookies if shared among 9 to share among 13 children, we need 8 more cookies. Correct me if I'm wrong.tianzhu wrote:9*8 = 72

72/4 = 18

18 + 9 = 26

I left the answer as 26 per children earlier.

sorry, should be 18*13 = 234 or 26*9 = 234

The answer is 234 cookies
