No worries, vaun.
It is under the topic of Bare Infinitive.
This infinitive is usually used after a verb of causation ("make") or verb of perception ("see", "witness", "watch", "hear")

I m steadyberry's son. Pls help! Chg the sentence to passive voice.

A security guard is chasing a group of teenagers.

My answer: A group of teenagers is being chased by a security guard.

Your answer is better.

‘Group’ is a collective noun and here we are thinking of the group as acting as one, rather than the teenagers comprising the group acting individually, so a singular verb is more appropriate. We would not normally think of one security guard chasing several individual teenagers moving in different directions.

Pls explain why "following" is incorrect. Thanks.

"Are we running in the park tomorrow morning?" asked the boys.

The boys asked if they were running in the park the FOLLOWING morning.

Teacher marked the above wrong. This is the answer given:

The boys asked if they were running in the park the NEXT morning.

I do not think it is incorrect. ‘The next morning’ and ‘the following morning’ are alternative ways of changing ‘tomorrow morning’.

There is a usage though of ‘next morning’ where ‘next morning’ means the morning after a specified day rather than today. Then you can use ‘following morning’ as an adverbial change for ‘next morning’. For example:

Mother said, “We shall take delivery of the ingredients next Tuesday or Wednesday and bake the cakes the next morning.”

Mother said that they would take delivery of the ingredients the following Tuesday or Wednesday and bake the cakes the following morning / the morning after.

This distinction is not made in the primary syllabus.

Hi joy of learning

This was from a primary school worksheet, marked by English teacher. The child also won't dare to ask his teacher why he was marked wrong. Anyway, thanks very much for your reply.
