Hi

Can anyone help me with this question? TIA!!!

Kumar, Suling and Taufik had 840 stickers in all. Kumar gave 15 stickers to Suling and 32 stickers to Taufik
In the end, Kumar had thrice as many stickers as Suling and Suling has half as many stickers as Taufik.
How many fewer stickers did Taufik have than Kumar at first?

Ming and Yang each received the same amount of pocket money every day. They both spent some money on
food and saved the rest. Ming saved $2 more than Yang each day. When Ming saved $96, Yang only saved
$72. How many days did Ming take to saved $96?

1.
This is on Total Unchanged
In the end,
K=3u
S=1u
T=2u

At first,
K=3u+15+32
S=1u-15
T=2u-32

Total Units=3u+1u+2u=6u
6u=840
1u=840÷6=140
2u=140×2=280
3u=140×3=420
T(At First)=280-32=248
S(At First)=420+47=467
Diff=467-248=219

Ans:219

2.
96-72=24
24÷2=12

Ans:12

need help on this.

I didn't have the question with me now, but the question is roughly like that

84 scouts are going on a camping trip. the food they have are enough to last the 84 scouts for 12 days
on the camping day, 21 scouts did not turn up, assuming that each scout take the same amount of food. how many days can the food last the remaining scouts

TIA!

Hi chloecube

Good Morning

In this scenario, we are talking about inverse proportion which means when one quantity increases, the other quantity decreases .When one quantity decreases, the other increases.

For this question, when number of scouts increases, then quantity of food decreases .When number of scouts decreases, then quantity of food increases.

Amount of food ----- 84*12 (based on 84 scouts for 12 days)

21 scouts did not turn up, so we have 63 scouts.

Now, we are expecting the original amount of food to last longer due to the reduced number of scouts.

Number of days the food can last ----- (84*12)/63 ----- 16

Hope this helps.

Best wishes

Hi, can pls help me solve this question:

In a bowling game, 5 points were awarded for knocking down each red pin and 4 points for each blue pin. Peter managed to knocked down an equal number of pins and scored 108 points. How many red pins did he knocked down?
