Algebra. heard from a mom that her child was taught in school by a relief teacher. She used it in Psle & passed with flying colors.

Can anyone cfm whether can use algebra? My kid teacher say cannot but like macaron I kind of agree that algebra is more full proof for pale and reduce assumptions and time wasted. Any thoughts on this?
