As you mentioned your DD's weakness is in identifying
the methods to solve problem sums, can I assume that
once she knows what method to use, she has no problem
solving them?

One practice my DD's tuition teacher did with her class was
exactly this identification process. The teacher did not insist on
them solving the problems, but just to recognize the basic concept
and recommend solution.

your DD to suggest how she would solve the problem?

6U of A = 1/4 of F => F has 24U

You have to draw the model to visualise.
Amirul = 6 small units for 60% and 4 small units for 40%. Shade 6 small units to differentitate 60% and 40%.
Fatimah = convert 25% into 1 BIG Unit out of 4 BIG Units. Since 25% is equal to Amirul's 60%, hence the 1 BIG Unit will be cut into 6 small units. Fatimah will have 24 small units altogether. Shade Fatimah's 6 units to differentiate 25%.

Amirul should have 10 units (6 units "shaded" + 4units "unshaded") and Fatimah should have 24 units (6 units "shaded" + 18 units "unshaded").

Add up all their units:10 units + 24 units = 34 units
34 units = 170 marbles
1 unit = 5 marbles

a) Amirul has 10 units. 10 units X 5 marbles = 50 marbles
b) To have an equal number of marbles, both must have 17 units of marbles each. Amirul shall receive 7 more units friom Fatimah. Hence, 7 units of marbles = 7 X 5 = 35 marbles

Men = 28%
Women = 5/7 of men = 5/7*28%= 20%
Girls : women is 3:5 =>3/5*20%=12%
Boys= 100-28-20-12=40%
40%-28%=12% is 48
Therefore 100% = (48/12)*100 =400
