A : B + C -> 2:3 or 12:18 (total 30u)

B : A + C -> 1:5 or 5:25 (total 30u)

A -> 12u
B -> 5u
C -> 30-12-5 = 18u

G.swimmers + G.non-swimmers = 7, so total number of girls is a multiple of 7

since total number of girls : total number of boys = 6:5
we multiply by 7 to get --> 42 : 35

Sorry could not understand why we need to multiply by 7 [why we need to use G.swimmers and G.non-swimmers ]

Can't we use b.swimmers+b.non-swimmers = 5 instead ?

Hi sruthi,

Girls : boys
6 :5
6 unit of girls is divided into = 7 units

5 unit of boys is divided exactly into 3:2 =5 units

So using common multiple, G:B is multiplied by 7

Hello milo-cupcake,

B : G
1 : 10
3 : 2 (booklets each)
----------
3 : 20, total 23 booklets per 1 boy and 10 girls.

23 x $25 = $575. This means every 1 boy and 10 girls can make $575

Total earnings = $5750
$5750 / $575 = 10 groups of (1 boy and 10 girls)

So,
a) 10 boys
b) 100 girls

hope this helps!

:thankyou:
We can see it as pears have 7u in total and apples have 5u in total
1u of pears and 1u of apples = 26
2u of pears and 2u of apples = 52
5u of pears and 5u of apples = 130 fruits
If 5u of pears and 5u of apples were gone, then only 2u of pears are left
so, 140 - 130 = 10 pears = 2u
1u = 5 pears
7u = 35 pears

hope this helps!
