Need help on this question pls.

Safiq had 300 apples and oranges. He sold 1/2 of the apples and 2/3 of the oranges. Then, he had 136 apples and oranges left. What fraction of the fruits were apples at the beginning?

Base on the fraction of apple and oranges sold, we let the apple at the beginning be 2u, and oranges be 3p

2u + 3p = 300 --- (1)

After selling 1/2 apple and 2/3 oranges,

1u + 1p = 136

X3 to the above eqn

3u + 3p = 408 ----(3)

(3) - (1)

1u = 108

In the beginning, there are 2u of apples = 216

Fraction of apple = 216/300 = 18/25

2u + 3p = 300 --- (1)

After selling 1/2 apple and 2/3 oranges,

1u + 1p = 136

X3 to the above eqn

3u + 3p = 408 ----(3)

(3) - (1)

1u = 108

In the beginning, there are 2u of apples = 216

Fraction of apple = 216/300 = 18/25

Hi, need help fir these 2 sum

A shop sold goldfish at $1.30 each and angelfish at $0.80 each.

Sam bought some goldfish and Jon bought some angelfish from the shop.

Sam spent $5.10 more than Jon but had 8 fish fewer than Jon.

A) how many goldfish did sam buy?

B) how much did jon spend on the angelfish?

A baker baked some cakes.30% of the cakes were chocolate cakes and the rest were pandan cakes. After selling 88 pandan cakes and 5/6 of the chocolate cakes, he has 1/5 of the original number of cakes left.

A)what fraction of the pandan cakes were sold?

B) how many chocolate cakes did he sell?

First we find the difference in spending if Jon had the same number of fishes as Sam.chloecube wrote:Hi, need help fir these 2 sum

8 angel fish = 8 x 0.8= $6.40

If we take away 8 fishes from Jon , they would have the same number of fishes, and

the cost difference between Sam and Jon is now = 5.10 + 6.40

= $11.50

One goldfish and one angelfish difference= $1.30 - 0.8

=$0.50

A)Number of sam's goldfish = 11.5/0.5 = 23##

B)Jon has 23 + 8 =31 fishes

He spent = 31 x 0.8 =$24.80##

Since it's a percentage, we let the total cakes in the beginning be 100u. That means 30u for chocolate and 70u for Pandan.chloecube wrote:Hi, need help fir these 2 sum

There's two way to refer to the left over.

1st way is 1/5 of the original number.

Leftover = 1/5 X100u = 20u

2nd way to reference to leftover is after he sold 88 pandan and 5/6 chocolate

Leftover = (70u - 88) + 1/6(30u)

= (70u - 88) + 5u

= 75u -88

The leftover are equal,

20u = 75u - 88

55u = 88

u = 1.6

Total cakes in the beginning = 100u = 160 cakes

A) Fraction of pandan cakes sold = 88/160 = 11/20 ##

B) He sold 5/6 of 30u of choc. which is 25u

Choc cakes sold = 25u = 40 ###

Hi. Need help for this question.

George has 9 cards more than 3 times that of Henry's. Izra has 20 more cards than 2/3 that of George while George has 13 cards more than Izra.

(a) How many cards does Izra have

(b) How many cards do the 3 boys have altogether?
