A container contains a number of chocolate n banana muffifns in the ratio 5:2. After removing 10 chocolate muffins n adding another 4 banana muffins, the ratio became 3:2. How many chocolate muffins were there in the container in the end?

One possible solution:

Use a Formula:

Number of games → (Teams) x (Teams - 1) / 2


a) (7 x [7 - 1]) / 2 = 21 games

b) 7 x [7 - 1] = 42 games

1) Gabriel bought 8 boxes of pens. There were 20 pens in each box. He sold 3/5 of them at $1.30 each. 3/4 of the remaining pens were sold at 4/5 of its original price. He then gave away the rest of the pens. Gabriel found that he collected $67.80 more than what he paid for the pens.

How much did Gabriel spend on buying the pens? (Ans: $106.02)


2) On a table, there are 98 red and white unit cubes. 5/8 of the red and half of the white cubes are joined. There is an equal number of joined and loose red and white unit cubes.

How many more red than white unit cubes are there on the table? (Ans: 14 more)
