Math model methods , Heuristic, patterns , guess check, assumption - CONFIRM IRRELEVANT in Sec sch - But probably did help to sharpen thinking skills/ cognitive skills - all the soft skills for brain devt - But i feel is over kill in pri sch

All Geometry, Algebra, graphs, fractions etc - are building blocks to higher level in Sec

Sci- yes the answering style in pri sch is too perculiar - but knowledge get in pri sch is good to sec sch sci
Eng/ Chi - they did not over learn in pri sch - in fact must have good foundations in pri inorder to go higher level
The GCE O level Comprehension is NOT easy - almost whole EL lang paper are Compre passages.
Chinese - maybe a bit learn too much in both pri n sec - :siam: hahhah ...most people are not so bilingual in writing,. probably concentrate in ora/ speaking ... next time need to learn business Chinese . U see some popular people learn CL or EL in later life - no exam no stress - in the end they speak good CL (some local politicians) & Eng ( some chinese actors) so is Chinese overkills too :?

BUT I agree the importance to know our Mother Tongue. This help to make each of us know & being unique to our ethnic/ cultural roots.

May I ask did any of your kids mention this SA1 and psle maybe no oral? My child's sch teacher told them so. Sigh.... I wish they wont change anymore things, else we may waste time preparing for oral.

no info. Oral can help some kids to pass- not so difficult if compared to Compo writing
Oral + list comp are impt weigtage for PSLE - abt 30% , compo as an individual item is more diificult to score :(

xueyan,

- the book in first pic has more notes relating to oral, including relevant vocab, nouns based on places/events and is suitable for in-depth preparation.
Image

- the ones in the second pic has LC practices in it too and are useful for general practice.

Please take note that home-based learning for primary schools will start from tomorrow (Wednesday April 1) and every Wednesday thereafter.

To address concerns of parents, the MOE has compiled a kit to explain how home-based learning will work, and how parents can support their children's learning during this period.

The Parent Kit will be sent to parents through the Parents Gateway, a digital platform to get updates from schools and the ministry.

For further details, please refer to the following article.

Thanks deron, DS teacher said there is a possibility only. I hope oral goes on! And no last min changes.
DS was quite disappointed SMOPS also cancelled and it was very sudden, notified in the same week that it would be postponed. Then few days later said cancelled.

Hi,

My child is weak in Science MCQ. However, when I test her about basic concepts, she can answer.
Anyone can help? Thanks a lot!
Hi PlayfulFairy,

Sounds like your child needs to learn how to APPLY the Science concepts to questions; or, maybe she needs to learn some answering strategies like elimination method, assumption method, etc. For starters, can try out this MCQ answering technique.

Hope it helps her! :xedfingers:
