will this year's 2011 PSLE Maths be difficult? "MUST SEE" Channel News Asia program on PSLE Maths where Blogtv.sg played Are You Smarter than a 12 Year old?.

Was the 2009 PSLE Math Paper too difficult? Or are parents just complaining too much?

Blogtv.sg played Are You Smarter than a 12 Year old? Find out who scored ONE out of TEN in our 2009 Blogtv Math Paper! Was it the 31 year old BANKER? Or 12 year old Daryl?

Also, check out what a Psychiatrist, Parent and Tutor has to say.

I also heard this too. May be that's why last week in dd school all p6 students had to sit for a Section C (18 questions) test and not the other 3 subjects. Therefore I believe the school may plan to put heavy weighting in maths.

2007 & 2009 papers were super-difficult... so much so that difficult to say which one was more difficult. 2010 was super easy... So looks like 2011 will be difficult -at least

I have 'calculated' and looked into the crystal ball as well.

Yes, I'm afraid this year's Maths spells something really stressful for the kids taking psle this year (don't want to use the word 'bad').

Look on the bright side. If your child is good in Maths, this will be a good chance to get high T-score !

Who in P6 this year can solve this 2009 PSLE Maths (5 marks) question? (*Page 72, Q16 in the new PSLE Maths 5 year series.)

Jim bought some chocolates and gave half of it to Ken. Ken bought some sweets and gave half of it to Jim. Jim ate 12 sweets and Ken ate 18 chocolates. The ratio of Jim's sweets to chocolates became 1 : 7 and the ratio of Ken's sweets to chocolates became 1:4. How many sweets did Ken buy?. (PSLE 2009, 5 marks)

There are both good and bad points to having a ridiculously hard paper.
If it's too easy, It becomes too difficult to separate those who are really geniuses, from the average.
But if it is too hard, average students are stumped on virtually every question, and are left with a terrible score.
Haha, I still remember the Jim an Ken question. Tried it in P5, took me 15 minutes to solve. It really is all up to whether or not, you study well enough. If you drill your child hard enough, He or she will definitely be able to conquer Jim and Ken with ease.
Rewards come with hard work. Put in enough effort, and you don't need to worry about anything else.

The model methoid is a pain. just use ratio and basic algebra and there u hv it. I was in P6 last year and i solved that question in 4 minutes munching on popcorn. Most of my friends cud do it too. dun understand the fuss over the question
