Tom and Jerry travel from Raffles Town to East Park along the same route. Tom rides a motorcycle at an average speed of 64km/h. Jerry rides with Tom for the first part of the journey. He then jogs the remaining 6 km to east park at an average speed of 8km/h while tom turns back to Raffles Town. Tom arrives at Raffles Town at the same time that Jerry reaches East Park. find the distance between the two places.

Help pls.

J reaches EP in 6/8 hr.
T travelled 64*(6/8) = 48km in the same time.
Since EP is still 6km away when he turned back, the two places are 54,km apart.

Mrs Ting travelled 1km more because she is 0.5 further ftom the bank and leela is 0.5 short frtom the bank.

Since in one hr Ting travels 10km more, therefore she need 1/10 hr to travel 1km more.

Therefore in 1/10 hr, leela would have travelled 5.5km and the bank is 6km from her home.

C : D : CD => 1 : 5 : 6

I highlight the ratio components in ratio above to be red/blue that I need to make common in order to share a common unit.

C : D : CD => 4 : 20 : 24
B : CD : BCD => 16 : 24 : 40
A : BCD = >5 : 40

A = 5u , B = 16u , C = 4u, D= 20u

CD - AB = 10.8m
24u-21u = 10.8m
3u = 10.8m
u = 3.6m

D is the longest at 20u = 72m
C is the shortest at 4u = 14.4m
Difference = 72-14.4 = 57.6m or 57m and 60cm
