### Re: Q&A - PSLE Math

At any one time, van travel only 3/4 of the car distance (60:45).waterfall wrote:The speed of a car was 60km/h and the speed of a van was 45km/h. they started from Town P at the same time and travelled along the same route towards Town Q. Need help,

Van need 1 2/3 h more => Van need to travel 75km (1 2/3 * 45).

Since van did only 3/4 of the total distance when the car reached, it must hsve travelled 3*75km (left 75km which is 1/4 of the total distance)

### Re: Q&A - PSLE Math

at 9:15, a van left blossom village for River town at an average speed of 50km/h. Half an hour later, a car passed Blossom village heading towards River Town along the same route at an average speed of 60km/h.

a) At what time would the car catch up with the van?

b) If the car reached River town at 15:45, what was the distance between the two towns?

need help, Thanks

### Re: Q&A - PSLE Math

After half an hour, the van would be 0.5*50= 25km from BV.waterfall wrote:at 9:15, a van left blossom village for River town at an average speed of 50km/h. Half an hour later, a car passed Blossom village heading towards River Town along the same route at an average speed of 60km/h.

The car can make up 60-50km, ie 10km every hour. So it can catch the car in 2.5 hrs from 9.45.

B). Travel time is 6 hrs...so distance is 6*60km.

### Re: Q&A - PSLE Math

Tom and Jerry travel from Raffles Town to East Park along the same route. Tom rides a motorcycle at an average speed of 64km/h. Jerry rides with Tom for the first part of the journey. He then jogs the remaining 6 km to east park at an average speed of 8km/h while tom turns back to Raffles Town. Tom arrives at Raffles Town at the same time that Jerry reaches East Park. find the distance between the two places.

Help pls.
