Can someone advise me of my choices-

My tscore 250 + 2

1st - Rv SAP ( cop 252)
2nd - scgs 'o' level ( cop 252)
3rd - cedar 'o' level ( cop 250)
4th - Chung Cheng main SAP 'o' level ( cop 242)
5th - nan chiau SAP 'o' level (cop 244)
6th - nan hua SAP 'o' level ( cop 245)
I suppose Chung Cheng is a safe choice to fall back on, and so unlikely need to go to 5th or 6th choices. If you would like, can consider put SCGS IP somewhere before or after RV, depending on your preference, just in case SCGS IP cutoff is lowered this year.

250+1
This order ok? Any comments welcome. Thanks
Cath High IP, Cath High O, SJI IP, VS IP, SJI O, ACSI O
Do you want your child to get into IP as priority?
If yes, then all the IP schools should be in the first 3 choices, follow by 3 'O' level .

Do take note that SJI and ACSI are Independent school so monthly school fees are high.
CHS is priority mainly because it has good Chinese standard but not over emphasising on it, focus on moulding leaders, even their O standard is better than many boys sch w affiliations. Commute distance is also major factor.
If consider IP, only hv slight chance for SJI and VS, others are way too high for 250 score
Maris Stella - distance ok, Chinese elements included, may even up to #5 ahead of SJI O

(@floppy - RI #6 is mocking right??.. lol)

Initially my girl wanted to put scgs IP as 1st choice but historically scgs ip has not gone lower than 252. My girl tscore only 250 as her hmt +2 point cannot be used for scgs. Very limited choices for 250 score

Hi bluemom,

based on your 250 +2 = 252, if after get posted to your 1st choice school, River Valley High (IP + SAP), maybe later then seek Transfer to SCGS (IP).

Since u enter by Psle Tscore, not by DSA, can seek Transfer, if can meet the school's COP, if IP is what u are keen in.

IP for SCGS :
easier to seek Transfer, compared to OP seats for SCGS

The OP seats in both SCGS and St Nick : are hotter, more popular

Some of our 2019 affliated St Nick P6 students, prefer the traditional (OP), even if they qualify for IP,
eg. above 255, above 260

Does this mean that the O levels for SCGS is more sought after than the IP at SCGS?

My dd got 259.Any chance to get into RGS?
Worth a try but i suspect this year RGS cop will be higher than last year. Prob 261 or more.

Last year was a fluke year .

My opinion only, decision is up to you and your DD :) --> Better try than never try (SCGS IP). Ask how you or your DD would you feel if actual COP for SCGS IP goes to 250 when the posting results are out and you didn't give it a shot. Your choice (4) is a good safety net. Even if your DD got rejected if cutoff is 252 or 251, you will still likely get Chung Cheng. But if you got bounced out at 250 because of some decimal points, you can still try to appeal and your case would be stronger with SCGS IP as a (first) choice and I believe schools will make an overall assessment with other 250-appeals on case-by-case basis like the kid's usual P6 performance, with HCL vs without HCL, proximity from home, ranking of choices (maybe), etc.
