Don't think it's possible. MOE is quite strict about this.

Last year, one of the top PSLE scorers Sheldon was a year younger than his peers. He was in GEP Rosyth. Apparently he skipped a year somewhere along the way. Not sure how he did that? Take GEP test in P2? hehe.

I thought I read somewhere in one of the articles (i'm too lazy to search now), that he did skip a year, but not sure how that came to be.

was told he was assessed to have surpassed the level of his peers, so he skipped second half of Pri 1 and went to second half of Pri 2 after first half of Pri 1

like now he is in year 2 of Galileo

Wonder how MOE managed to sniff him out? Alerted by his parents?

I thought MOE always stressing about emotional maturity, ability to adapt & mix with slightly older children, so level skipping is very very rare.

I must say MOE is very accurate in their assessment in this instance

What's Galileo?

Skip level? May not be so easily possible in SG. People I came across have kids skip level oversea when the parents work there during their pre-primary or primary school years. When they came back one day, their kids are all one level up then their peers here.

Galileo is the pull-out science program for those who are very 'pro' in their science and what they learn / do is ahead of their peers. It is the school's own program

the school administer its own tests for Galileo selection

this Sheldon is well liked by his friends, same as the other underage boy too
