Congrats, Herbie!

For the leadership camp, I guess the teachers in my dd's school could not decide how to select.

First, the kids were asked to complete a questionnaire and they were asked to name a person whom they feel should attend the camp. In the end, from her class, only prefects and class monitors were selected.

Like that a bit of waste of time hor? Might as well just submit names of prefects and monitors can already.

Congrat! Can share which is that 'right' school of yours? For such good profile your dd will have no problem in getting into any school, except SOTA and NUSH. By then her choice need not be yours and it will also be influence by peers and they usually go RGS leh.

Ya lor! In the end, the kids selected are mainly those originally from the gep school as they are the prefects and monitors since they are "more established" already compared to newcomers from other schools.

Yah, those from the school in P1 have an advantage because they're already known leaders. But if the kid is outstanding, there is still a chance of being selected, like Herbie's dd.

but not being in the original pri sch does have disadvantage. Most leadership post are taken up by the old girl/boy and the control on quota so less chance for the new student to take on leadership role.
