Hi

Anyone knows what is the statistics of P3 students that have sat for the GEP this year? Wonder how many have opted out?

Thanks :)

The statistics are about the same every year. About 3,000 are selected to the second round, of which about 500+ get selected into GEP.

At my dd's old school the teachers made it a point to call each and every parent of those who took the 2nd test, and informed them personally whether they were successful or not.

I remember my dd comming back home and inform me that I need to pick up the envelope from the general office. I received notices, but teacher didin't call the parents. The kids roughly know who from which class got selected among themselves. Good luck to those who got selected this year! :D

I think 4,000 kids got selected for Round 2. Not 3,000.

I know it was 3,000 for my dd's year and previous years before that. Think they increased it to 4,000 last year.

School's office called me in early Nov with the best news. I even clarified with them that they hadn't made a mistake with the name. Couldn't share with son then as he was out having a party. When I finally told him, he refused to believe me until he saw the letter.

It's been a wonderful, enriching and challenging 3 years for him. I believe those who make it thru' their own effort will do very well in GEP while those who got in thru intensive tuition will likely falter along the way.

It was 3000 for round 2 in 2006.

The entire P3 cohort is invited to take the test. So you can look at the population census. About 40,000-50,000 students per cohort I assume.
