### Need my answers validated for General Ability Questions

Hi everyone

NB, these are legitimate questions and not an April Fool's joke.

This is the first of a few general intelligence maths questions that I willbe posting where I need validation of my answers, hence the new thread. Please help on the following:

QUESTION 1
A man walked 1.5 miles from his home in a straight line. He then turned Left and walked a mile. He then turned Left again and walked another 1.5 miles. If he again turns Left, how far hashe to walk to reach home.

I got the answer as 1 mile. I pictured it as a rectangle (2 @ 1.5 miles and 2 @1 miles)

Am I wrong or right?

### Re: Need my answers validated for General Ability Questions

Here is an even harder one. I am perplexed by these. Please help:

QUESTION 2
In the following lines, a letter has been omitted every time it should appear. The missing letter is one of these:- s, n, i, h. Replace the letter and separate the words to form the original sentence:-

(a) THENKSNTHENKWELL.
(b) MAERSMAKETHTHEMA.
(d) THIITHEFATETEXPRE.

(a) The ink is in the inkwell.

(b) Manners maketh the man. (this could be wrong as I had to insert two letters, "nn")

(c) The horse has had his handful of hay.

(d) Not sure.

QUESTION 5
Write out the word in each group that appears to be "odd" :-

(b) Apple, plum, orange, damson, pear
(c) Niece, father, husband, uncle, son
(d) January, March, December, April, October

(b) orange; it is the only one where we cannot eat the skin.

(c) My DS says Niece (as others are male). I say uncle, as there are definite relationship between father and son, and Uncle and Niece. I think DS is right, though.

(d) This one is confusing. I first thought it was October, since January followed December and April followed March.

Or it could be April, since October then miss a month then December. Similarily, January the miss a month then March. Not sure here.

Thank you mvm

In relation to Question 3, having 3, 4 and 5 beads would show each side as having 5 beads each. Just to confirm are we in agreement on this answer?
