My DS came out super impressed that the OAS was individually marked with their details 😆😆😆. He comes from a small neighbourhood school so it was an eye opener for us to see the huge discrepancy between numbers of kids from each school. Hardly seems fair that demographics plays such a huge part actually

DS says 70% he thinks is OK, 20% he's not sure, 10% he doesn't know. Don't know what to make of that.

quick question:

is the selection based on the bell curve instead of hard cut-off points?

(i.e your score is good or bad, relative to the other candidates only.
If MOE want to select only 1% of the cohort, getting a 70/100 gets you in too, if your 70/100 falls within the 1% region of the bell.)

From what I heard , its cut off points. Certain questions matter. MOE not looking to fill up all the places. but right students for the program

My boy said both papers he has to guess about 3 to 4 questions. I said that’s considered very good already. Perhaps in the school exam he hardly need to guess for the answer, he replied guessing is totally not ok. 🤣

Was today's English that easy?
Maybe I have the wrong idea, but I thought this thing was supposed to be super duper hard? Otherwise how to see who's the top 1%?

I feel English is hard to determine difficulty level of the paper. student might be able to answer all but not necessarily all right. Even if one finds it hard, no need to worry too cos he might get them right.

Mine said the GA paper was easier than English and that English was hard. And he breezes through those school test papers we got.

He mentioned there were four Comprehension passages?? (not sure) Hahaha he said much of his brain cells died today.
