Hi to all

Just wondering if any parents have experience in sending your child to one of these centers before. Perhaps could share it with me.

Thank you very much.

We stayed in the west area so now I am considering whether to send my DD to 1) Rainbow center at Margaret Drive(waiting time 1 year) SPD near Tiong bahru (new center so waiting time only 3 months but very inconvenient by public transport) or 3) Fei yue at Jurong East. We also have no idea which center is actually better. May have to pay them a visit soon to find out.

KK had done the arrangement for us and we have to chose a center soon so we can join the queue. They only allow us to queue for one center so we have to chose the right center to queue.

Can you switch school later if you find it do not suit your child ?
or cumbersome , maybe you should check it out ,
between child matching teacher/school and transport convenience.

Read tankee  link .....very informative ...give you some lead

Happy searching :imcool:

Thanks I already read the link and all the post. Guess only rainbow centre was mentioned and that is one year wait.

I think you probably cannot change school though u can withdraw. We went for a short talk conducted by KK. It seems might have to go to the centre till 6 years old.

Was thinking of visiting the schools first before we chose but the CEL people keep chasing us to make a decision. It seems in Singapore, if you want subsidized rates, its like that.

I was also considering Fei Yue at Jurong East. Clementi is only for Autistic children and CCK is too inaccessible by public transport.

Anyone got any experience at Fei Yue at Jurong East.

From what I read from all the different threads, it seems can also chose to send my DD to tumble tots or Julia Gabriel on my own expenses. Again I wonder which is more helpful. Quite a few options but dont know what to chose.

Also I know private speech Therapists are expensive, can anybody tell me what are their rates and any recommendations to a good therapist?

Hi

If yr daughter has slow development (in terms of coordination), you can try occupational therapy or gym such as http://www.bazgym.com/ or JWT gym.

I think Julia Gabriel's playgrp are unsuitable if a child has global developmental delay. The money & time is better spent on other programs.

Re: change EI provider

I know of some parents who withdraw first then switch to another Ctr.
One parent switched fr Metta school to AAs (autism) direct. I think a lot of things are possible; dont be hampered by perceived red tape. If u think your child's therapy has plateaued, sometimes it's neccessary to change as every Ctr has its strengths & limitations.

Anyone experienced Dynamics EIPIC programme at Orchard? Are they good?

Currently my child is having 5 days a week, 2 hours EIPIC sessions at SKILT Centre. He is also attending half day at a mainstream preschool. At SKILT, he's having OT and SLT sessions at 30 mins each weekly incorporated on the EIPIC programme, we are also considering having additional 1:1 ST and OT sessions for him. So the challenge is more on traveling to and fro the different schools, which prompted us to look for alternative EIPIC schools that offer EIPIC w/ preschool setup.

In our search, we found Dynamics and learned that they offer a full day 9am-5pm EIPIC w/ pre-school programme that incorporates a 2 x OT and 3x SLT weekly with an option to take additional 1:1 OT and SLT. The cost would be almost the same (difference of S$200-S$300, with Dynamics on the higher end).

We would greatly appreciate if you could share your experience with Dynamic as a EIPIC and therapy provider. Thanks!
