ImMeeMee,
How's your gal doing? June holiday already. Time flies.
My boy attended the school screening test yesterday. Results will be out in July. Really hv to pray hard and cross my fingers! I didn't know how he performed, looks happy before and after... He just told me that he played bingo...
Imagining if he gets offer then I will be happier than striking toto... But if not...... Still not dare to think....

Hi Tamama

Yes, it has been half a year, how time flies.

The parent body of the school organizes quite a lot of holiday activities, so this June hols is taken up by sending doter to some of these events. We just finished 3-day sports and fun camp (morning to evening), and I must say that as much as the kids had a good time, parents too had peace of mind that the kids were well taken care of. Most parents I spoke to agreed that it was a good way to bring the kids out of their shell. As parents we tend to be over protective, but when they are on their own, you will be surprised how well they could cope with their peers.

Have signed doter up for another dance program during the hols, so looking forward to that. Notwithstanding, there is quite a lot of hol hw to complete, so its fun and work and fun and work ...

Know what you mean with the anxiety and apprehension while waiting for the outcome. Perhaps we could rejoice that your child completed the screening and that he could tell you what he did. I thought that was already a good first step, the rest is really to hope for the best. It may be a tough call but do think about a plan B. Not that you will not succeed in your screening, but I tend to have fall back position on all things where my doter is concerned, cos the unknown is higher.

All the best and do share on your next move in time to come!

I am really HAPPY ...

My daughter has been chosen to sing a NDP song on stage in school! For the longest time she has not had the chance to go on-stage for a performance during her pre-school days. I have always had the dream that she will one day do so, and if that moment comes I will be so proud of her ...

I am not sure whether parents are allowed to watch the performance (maybe not), but I do hope we can catch a glimpse, through a clip or something ...

DREAMS DO COME TRUE ... we just need to believe in ourselves. :dancing:

I sign my daughter up for after-school gym class, and she is still with KKH for ST and OT, and a 4-6 sessop social skills program when we get a slot. During school hols I will put her on a couple of holiday enrichment programs organized by school.

At one stage, I put her on a MS art class, but we stopped after about 6 months as she was not making much progress. May consider swimming class next year if she is ready by then.

I have stopped all other forms of private ST and OT, or private literary therapy, cos school work also takes up considerable time and I coach her myself. Sometimes I do wonder whether I am doing sufficient for her, though my rational self tells me that there is 'no enough', we just do our best.

How about you?
