Hi ctcc

Have you check out http://www.das.org.sg/ ?

There are some places that boast of (newer?) physical training techniques that could help? I cant remember, will post again if I find out more.

Hi heutistmeintag

Thank you for yr reply.

Das need to access him again. We need to get the referral letter fm the sch and then to Das. The waiting time for Das is abt 6 wks. By then it shd be around oct.

Yesterday is his birthday and his birthday : wish I m a clever boy…. My sis was very very sad to hear that.

Now we are thinking besides getting the DAS to help is there any other thing we shd do to help him. We even thing to transfer him out fm current pri sch (homework very difficult, when we mentioned time for homework, the face change…) but to where??? Less stressful pri sch ? International sch?

Hi,
some schools claimed to have Dyslexia Support.

I think he need to be assured that he can be clever too. Check out http://www.dyslexiaonline.com/famous/famous.htm and tell him that Thomas Edison was also a dyslexic and he thought he was dumb too!

You could also check out local help at http://www.kidsdyslexia.com.sg/. They had a case study of a RGS gal who was dyslexic but she still did well at the end. The journey may be tougher for them, but only the tough gets going !!! 8) Jia you!

It would break my heart to hear that too. Thanks heutistmeintag, for pointing out the helpful resources.

BTW, can anyone tell me what are the early symptoms of dyslexia?

THANK YOU for yr information. Very useful, I juz called them to chk some details.

Now we understand that if he is confirm at high risk we will be able to get a doc letter then he maybe able to drop a subject (still need to attend the lesson), extra time during exam. He’s currently under the sch learning support group. He’s been pull out for the English, math, Chinese lesson. So he only attends the art, PE, music with the class.

My sis thinking of change him to less stress primary sch next yr, what do u think? Or international sch, but the fees is too high..
