was highly impressed by my little campus at bishan. The standard here is pretty high!

was impressed by the children acquiring basic core lifeskills from here. Saw many young girls N2 age already bathing on their own, use soap wash own body, use shampoo wash hair, dry towel, everything all done on their own, independently. They brush teeth using toothbrush, standing in front of basin with a mirror in front. Everything done in orderly manner, independently. Can see that this childcare centre train her students very well!

Principal showed me K1 curriculum workbooks done by the students. Was stunned by what i saw. All K1 kids writing creative composition pretty well, as i flip through workbook by workbook done by various students. Most kindergarten only start writing composition at K2 level. But K1 kids here already start writing creative essays at K1.

want to transfer my K1 son quickly in. But Principal said sorry, at moment no vacancy. So can only put my son's name on waitlist. Principal said need to take assessment test to gauge his standard first, if vacancy arise when a child withdraw. She said for N1 kids and N2 kids, the waiting list is very, very long.

this childcare centre using Letterland phonics to teach English. I ask so what do kids do in the afternoon ? Principal reply afternoon will be enrichment lessons - like montessori Mathematics+ montessori Cultural Science, all built into their unique core curriculum. I asked - how about Montessori Phonics, got teach ? she reply No, only Letterland phonics.

got Montessori lessons built in sounds good! Most of the ccc i visited - PM nothing much, just sleep, wake up makan tea time eat biscuit drink milo, sing some nursery rhymes then go home. But this ccc good! got very good useful, beneficial Montessori lessons conducted.

i ask - how much ? she reply after subsidy for working mothers is $430 per month. Pretty reasonable school fees ( i thought)

conclusion: visited many ccc. This one really stands out !

then rang up school bus operator. He commented this ccc very hardworking. School holidays the kids come back learnt many things. He said he drive students around Bishan, Thomson area to other ccc too. But those other ccc, kids come back during school holidays to play only. But this ccc, kids really learnt a lot even during school holidays.

was also impressed ... K1 kids start spelling revision, every week. Spelling each week goes by topic.

most kindergarten only teach spelling at K2. But this ccc start spelling one year ahead earlier, at K1.

You failed to mention that the school has a long waiting list. It is impossible to get a place unless u register at least one year beforehand.

bigfoot, you know of any full day ccc in Bishan or TPY that got similar standard to my little campus, whereby afternoon PM got good curriculum, not just let kids sleep, makan tea time ?

because Principal said though she can put my K1 son on waiting list, but she told me got other parents ahead of me on the queuing list, should there be any child withdrawl ... so think my chance is slim. Sigh! should have come here much earlier.

This is quite a well-known and popular CCC (My Little Campus) in Sembawang and they started up North (Sembawang/Admiralty/Canberra/Yishun) with about 3 or 4 branches before setting up (My Little Campus) in Bishan.

My colleague's son has studied at My Little Campus at Sembawang (now P1) and she told me the teachers will teach them a lot of things in the afternoon and they have cookery, geography etc...Her son will come back and tell her what the teachers have taught them etc. If her son falls sick or public holiday at home, he will complain it is boring and wanted to go to school where he has many friends.

For a CCC, I think this is a very good one so for those staying in Bishan, should try your best to put your kids in if you can and for full-day!
