Advice to prevent fussy eaters

Today I was given a very good piece of advice to help stop children from developing bad eating habits. When starting to feed your babies solid food (this should be at around 5-6 months) start with non-sweet vegetables like potato and rice cereal only. Once the baby is eating this for a few weeks without problems, then add in sweet vegetables like carrot and sweet potato. Again feed a combo of the non-sweet and sweet for a few weeks. Lastly feed fruit mixes like apple. I was told that babies will have a higher chance of not wanting to eat non-sweet things if they start out on sweet foods.
Just a bit of advice I thought I would share...

Hello,

Feeding a fussy baby can be frustrating. Often the fussiness is caused by hunger, and the baby needs to eat. Other factors can cause baby's fussiness and eating during this time might not be a good idea. Determined if baby's fussiness is caused by hunger, and then use these tips to get him to eat. Check for possible sources of baby's irritation before trying to feed her. She should have a dry diaper, a clean nose, and if she's teething, some pain reliever medication as directed by your pediatrician. Be aware of what else could be causing fussiness. If your baby had his shots within the past few days, he just may not feel very good. Prepare foods that you know she will eat. Don't allow her to fill up on milk first and then try to feed solids. A tummy full of milk won't want to eat.
