British Council - Official Thread

Postby British Council » Fri Oct 28, 2016 3:09 pm

Hi Mummies and Daddies,

Welcome to the British Council’s yes-it-is-official thread. As you know, English is what we do best and love most. We teach English to kids, parents, teachers, anyone and everyone who wants to learn... and we are mad about it. In the staff room, our teachers can go on and on discussing the best and latest teaching methodology in the education market... flip-classrooms, is rote learning good?, 21st century skills, everything and anything about teaching that you can think of.

We love to share information so do watch this space for tips on learning and the latest news from us.

If you have any questions on our courses or on English in general, feel free to post them here and we’ll reply as soon as we can. You can also visit us at http://www.britishcouncil.sg or call us at +65 6439 2145.

Cheers,
British Council Singapore

TGIF Mummies and Daddies!

I'm sure you read to your little kids regularly. But what are your thoughts on reading with your kids once they're in Primary or even Secondary school?

Sunday Times featured an article recently on families who do just this! In the article, our Head of Secondary, Robert Playfair talked about the benefits of reading with your older children. Read the article here - http://www.straitstimes.com/lifestyle/older-and-reading-together

Sounds like a good idea? Tell us what you think!

Parents of PSLE students, well done on making it through the toughest year of their education journey yet! As your child moves on to Secondary school, are you aware of what's in store for English and how to score well in the subject?

Here's some information that might help.
