Re: JEI/PSLEMath or MPM or Mind Stretcher or Andrew Er Math?
You can consider JEI PSLEMath. They have a structured programme to prepare the kids.chloe lew wrote:Hi my boy next year pri 1 i need help him find a good math learning center , who can tell me Which Learning Math Center is good ? Thank you .

Recently signed up with a centre in the east. They customise their programs and materials according to the needs of my kids.
Finds their method of approach helpful and likes the way they work with me as well. Accountable with the things they do in class and always ready to help my kids

Any recommendation for Math tuition for P5? Child will be in P5 next year. Heard so many feedback from friends that it is a huge jump from P4. Want to be ks and "chope" a place at a good centre first. Living in the west.

Re: Comparing Math Enrichment Programmes
Hi,
I am in a dilemma whether to enroll my 5 yr old daughter in Kumon Maths or Abacus.
Few months back I had enrolled her in Abacus in a nearby CC, she used to get 57 worksheets as homework every week.
For 1 worksheet to make her do I had to sit with her for 1 hour, if I sit with her for Abacus I don't have time for doing any other activity with her on a weekday. Also her teacher used to tell she is very playful, in the 1 hr class hardly she does 10 sums. Her class strength was 1012 kids of different age group.
My concerns are:
1. Do both abacus n kumon classes have so much homework that everyday 1 hr we need to sit for kumon/abacus. Then how do we manage with other activities like reading books. Working moms please advise how much time do you spend with your child for studying on a daily basis.
2. If they learn abacus method of maths, would it be confusing for them in P1. How about if the child learns kumon?
Thanks,
