New English Language Syllabus 2010

Postby optimistforum » Thu Dec 30, 2010 7:08 pm

A belated Merry Christmas to you all.

I have been scanning the new MOE syllabus for English Language, and one thing that struck me was that the comprehension activities will now be more focussed on candidates finding the gist of the passage and answering inference based questions.

My questions are:

1 - Am I right? Will the comprehension questions be more challenging and inferences based that before?

2 - If they are more challenging and inference based, then will the hitherto P1-P6 books needed to be got rid off, such as the *Challenging 4-in-1 English by EPH that my DC use? Please advise, of any relevant challenging books?

A happy and healthy new year to you and your families; and may your god go with you.

Hi Happy new year to you too.

Sorry but I don't quite understand your concern... Is the English syllabus new this year? Are you saying that the assessments that we have bought might not adhere to the new syllabus?
