The Learning Edge Centre - English Creative Writing

Postby Yerdua » Thu Mar 10, 2011 10:17 am

I've got a copy of TLE brochure too.

Info extracted from brochure:
- Specialists in English creative writing
- "imagine a classroom where students do not slump in their seats
but are engaged with hips designated mat'l, a little peer competition
& a couple of laughs ignited by zany teachers..."
- 16 students per class
- 10 lessons $215/$235
- special review at end of each term
- enquiries: 91885110

I wonder if this centre's approach is like
The Alternative Story (TAS)'s creative writing course.

:?

Hi,
Got a friend who enrolled her son in P2 & the son loves it. Her son went to GEP and told the mom that the school is teaching creative writing and he already knows the stuff cos' he learnt them before at Learning Edge. According to friend, her son refused to quit the course at Frontier CC......however, this is info dated 4 months ago

With that info, I enrolled my 2 kids (but Frontier no vacancy, so I went to another branch) since end Mar. Frankly, the notes are pretty good (in my view)....all stuff that I dunno  As for results.....DS seems to show some improvement....but DD eerrrhhhh, still slightly below average in her school haha. But to begin with, DS has all along been a more 'absorbent sponge'. So in my case, I'll still continue with the class cos' I believe creative writing skills comes with time & practise.....

Hi!
Sharing my P4 DD1's experience

MY DD1 started with TLEC somewhere in middle of last year - that is Term 3 of P3. I was introduced to this centre from a dear mummy in this KSP forum and she has selflessly e-mailed me some of her then P4's DD worksheets for me to view :hugs: :snuggles:

Overall, my DD1 loves to attend the class lessons, especially so that she is attending the one with a smaller intake (about 7 in the class compares with the other time slot which has a full class of 16 students)

The worksheets are presented in a very fun way - with a lot of cartoon pics and fonts are creatively present to kids will not get bored...I like that it teaches the vocabulary words and the various ways to write a piece of work

And the teacher is very encouraging - she will write small notes and give written praises on the piece of work written by the kid :dancing:
