Hi Mewster,

Thanks for sharing and welcome to this forum.

Starfall is a "voice book".
-Great to pick up phonics sound and blending.
-Stories read out by sounding each letters.

Hi Mummy of 2 & autumnbronze,

You are most welcome!

Hi All,
Do you guys use any sites above and do you find them useful?

I didn't use starfall to teach. I expose them to educational DVD when i am at work. At night, i would use books/cards/printable worksheets & readers to teach my children.

I do use starfall, and Leapfrog DVDs.

My kids like the section where they get to learn the individual letter sounds. They also like some of the stories in the next section. I think it's pretty useful. Most impt, it's free :lovesite:

Hi Charmaine,

I use starfall for the ABC and the GingerbreadMan cuz DS loves them.

I am now reinforcing alphabets so print wksheets and art and craft ideas from some of the websites you mentioned in your other posts eg notimeforflashcards and dtlk to teach my DS. Also incorporate the mystery bag game as suggested by buds. Ds loves that part v v much (read that buds!) He tries to cheat sometimes by peeping when taking out item from the drawstring bag

Maybe once I've learnt the trick to load photos from camera to PC, then I might put up some of the stuff DS and I did together lah ... :D

Please autumnbronze, no need to learn any tricks. :P

Remove the SD card from the digital camera. Slot into
the laptop SD slot. No need to upload onto your laptop
at all. It can serve as an external device for you to
browse and select photos. With handphone's Micro SD
card, you'd need a Micro SD adapter to slot it into the
laptop... and upload away!

Yeah. The mystery bag is a hit with children. No matter
what the subject matter is. Can be doing shapes or doin
numbers or animals... the variations are endless really.

You can even play with DH. Add yer own adult stuff in there.
Works wonders when he's seemingly grouchy over your
addiction to KSP.

Sollie. :offtopic: on the last part. :siam:

:!: I'm no professional! :!:

:siam:

I just share what i know and share my learning experiences...
my learning journeys. As each child's growth in reading varies
between each individual child, it is very heartening to know that
WE have been a part of that growth & making the reading process
fun and meaningful to each child providing them with the gift of literacy.
