Hi Lauren,

We have an art teacher(native speaker) who creatively designs an art course to help very young children appreciate Chinese words from learning how to draw them out. The course is "Learning Chinese through drawing" 象形字. Drawing helps the child to remember the character better and can extend it to other characters.

It breaks down the barriers in learning Chinese for them in an enjoyable way and at the same time pick up drawing skills. The course is a highly interactive one with the teacher.

This course is only suitable for those weak in Chinese and dislike Chinese. If a child is already good in it, he/she may be too impatient to learn this way as drawing is required.

If interested, please PM me.

My boy's kindy teaches Chinese using this method and he is learning very fast. I guess the drawings make it interesting and relevant.
