I need the centre to teach beyond the text. Centre staff at Jiang explained that the 3 hr class at FLS will cover more difficult stuff that are not covered in the 2 hr 听说读写 class.
My sister-in-law sent her child for their 3 hour class, she told me it was very beneficial but that was about 4 years ago. Is FLS still good? How about their other branches? Am thinking of Beauty World one..do you know who are the good teachers there?

Thanks sky minecrafter,

My sister-in-law mentioned she had friends whose kids are still in Beauty World and they find it effective but they are in upper pri and lower secondary. I would like to know the good teachers for mid-primary. From your experience maybe its the preschool teacher that is not so good? I agree FLS probably has very strong teachers. That is our second choice, first is Beauty World.

Mid-primary is taken by the principal's daughter herself if there's no change. Most times, a tutor (@BW, except for weekends when tutors from FLS come down to help out; on weekdays only 2-3 classes run at the same time; some slots you see on the schedule have no students) takes All the classes for that level.

:-) JEC has very suitable materials similar to our school's HCL exercises. Given a chance, we'd like to attend more classes at their FLS branch. I do hope things have changed @BW after we left (we were the first students when they opened). All the best.

I heard that Wang started from Jiang. From my friends' feedback- this is what I gathered:

In terms of difficulty level:
(ranging from hardest to easiest)
1) Busy Bees
2) Jiang
3) Wang
4) HCL
5) Tien Hsia
6) Berries

In terms of environment:

Berries is the nicest. HCL, Tien Hsia, Wang and Busybees are more functional but not too bad. Jiang is like a cram school feel.

In terms of effectiveness:
Preschool-
What most people feel is Berries is the best for preschool, their materials are colourful and they have toys used to reinforce the learning which is what preschool kids need.

Lower Pri-
Depending on your child's level, Tien Hsia and HCL are good for this level.

Upper Pri-
Jiang, Wang and Busybees and HCL are the more popular centres at this level. HCL - the children are engaged and they have coupons for kids to exchange for prizes, the learning is pitched at a level most kids can take, not too hard but not too simple. Wang is for those who are doing quite well and need an extra push, Jiang is harder than Wang and Busybees is the hardest of them all. Wang, Jiang and Busybees are for the students who are already quite strong. This is what most of my friends say.

My child is in lower pri, in HCL. He really likes it, we will see how it goes when it comes to upper pri.

I went to Jiang to take a look (AMK branch) but while the materials seem good, I did not really take to the environment.

My upper primary child studies at HCL and they have good Oral (mind map) handouts. Even though he is not proficient, learning the handouts by heart helped him score well. Center teachers are helpful and take time out to entertain questions patiently, forthright with what they can help him achieve as well. Very good experience.

Was wondering how many PSLE students acheive A* in Jiang?
Unlike Jiang, Wang which displays the PSLE results on the notice board
