Story book recommendation time again  - this time, suitable for Pri 5/6 (or even Sec 1)

Saw this 蜗牛故事 series on 20% discount (original price around $10) at NEX Popular Bookstore. Besides the offer, the titles available in this series caught my attention. May seem a little expensive but its worth noting
- each book contains lots of short stories (similar to reading comprehension passages, albeit longer)
- there's digital form included
- stories and use of words are well chosen/planned --> titles covering fables, folklores, historical incidents and famous stories are not only interesting but can help stimulate child's interest in CL via reading while increasing their knowledge at the same time.

If cost is an concern, perhaps families (who are relatives) with kids around same age each get a few books and circulate around upon completion.

Look at the categories and titles available under this series!

There's HYPY for those who need help, whereas the language use isn't too 'native'. Comes with digital media too.

My first visit to Chinatown Library. From decor to the choice of furniture, it is very nice!! 古色古香.

This library is not big. 80% of the selections is Chinese books and the library has a Chinese theme.

DH borrowed The Opium War (by Julia Lovell) and Mao’s Great Famine (by Frank Dikotter) for DD2 to read. He said these two are good reads.

Parents interested in introducing 四大名著 to their kids can snap up these offers (20% off $8.90 each). Suitable for upper Primary level. Wanted to recommend these books but the current offer is icing on cake. :)

Can anyone recommend some easy Chinese storybooks for lower primary boys? Those with adventure or mystery/investigative theme.

My son started out with Thomas and Friends books in Chinese (published in China, standard very good). I read them to him in K1-K2.

In P1-P2 he borrowed Pokémon and Transformers comics from his school library, which stocks the Chinese versions. I also bought him a whole series of Plants vs Zombies storybooks in Chinese (sold at his school book fair). Plants vs Zombies even have a fantastic series on Science FAQ (English and Chinese versions sold separately).

Now he is heavily into Minecraft storybooks (in English). Don’t kids in China play Minecraft too? How come I don’t see Minecraft books in Chinese??

Do u see my son’s preferences? Popular cartoons in book form will attract him to read more and boost his vocabulary. I’m searching high & low for such books.

If there are none, I would settle for adventure type stories like Famous Five that is interesting for boys. Need suggestions please.
Just to update...I managed to find some Chinese Minecraft books from Taobao. They were basically the Chinese translation of the comic version. Ok for fun but not very educational.

But this 舒克贝塔 series (bought from Taobao), I highly recommend. Can’t remember which KSP forummer mentioned & recommended it before, but it’s wow...very well-written and full of captivating adventures to interest boy readers. The language is like what the kids should be aiming for in their essays (even English compos like these will score well). I have been reading it to my son as bedtime story (he’s not able to recognize all the words himself yet, so I just let him enjoy the storyline & explain as we go).

See it for yourself here:
