Hello FLD, sorry, have no relevant experience...
Points to ponder?...
(1) are you confident that your home revision will be as good as or better than Wlc's?
(2) pros: save time from travelling to-and-fro (centre); channel freed up resources to weaker subjects?

Revision is often on a case-by-case basis, depending on level of mastery, resilience to stress, willingness to work more, school schedule and of course, parents' expectations.

Berries is pretty good in getting kids to enjoy learning. Unless yr niece is very advance in her language owise it’ll kill her interest if enrol too early with 汪. It is not nec. For me it’s more impt the child enjoy her learning & build on what she learns. When in P3, they need to absorb more vocab & writing skills, they’ll not resist learning so much, but instead her memory bank is filled with happy learning whenever her brain associates learning Chinese. That will help her more.

I’ve rarely come across Spore kids able to tolerate heavy academic learning at P1, except for one family whose grandparents are Shanghainese & the boy very well taken care of & will sit with grandparents. His 作文 is tip top at P6 that’s how I came to know but he never had any tuition for Chinese. He just enjoys his time sitting with grandma learning his chinese. Very exceptional. Btw, he was my pastor’s son. Only that he’s very weak in Math.

My point is, much as i always highly recommend 汪老师, I won’t for lower primary kids. It’s just too overwhelming for that age. Start after P2 wld be sufficient IMHO.
Is the jump from P1 to P2 at Wang big? Or even starting at P3 would it be okie?

It’ll depend on each child’s prior learning experience. For my kids, P1, P2 okai. By P3, they need more substantial coaching & Berries can’t provide the level of help required to keep pace with sch syllabus.

Fortunately, K1 till P2 with Berries had given them positive learning experience to persevere. I u’stand sons kids get stressed up & don’t co-operate coz experience in other centers negate their interests. I had a frd whose child was traumatized at Ciltren & the Chinese Teacher was found to hv doctored her diploma credentials (caught, charged & deported fr Spore).

Thanks for the advice... I thought these stories of doctored certificates only happens on tv dramas... hope your friend's child is ok already......

@FHP. Hi. Effective or not, it does depend on the student's needs. Often, 1week after WLC releases these Psle intensive courses, sessions (limited vacancies) will begin to be fully booked out. The focus is 普华。Hundreds of questions are covered, for instance the writing components, during each session. The child will write non-stop: class attempts some questions, tutor stops them to go over the first chunk of answers, class scribbles down correct answers & continues with the next chunk of questions, & the cycle repeats... At the end of the session, the tutor will check through each child's work before releasing her. Tutor (no one can say for sure who would be assigned) may or may not explain the nitty gritty details/techniques related to each question - since explaining means the session will overrun. I find them useful only for its momentum + quick pacing.

Does the regular 3-hr Wang class do revision of the P4-P5 syllabus? Given that they will be finishing the entire P6 chapters soon, I would think the remaining term 3 lessons should focus on the revision part? The intensive lessons to revise P3-P6 work is during Sep, which is after prelims already.

Bochapmum3, the answer is yes. The regular 3hr Wang class do cover P4-P6 词语 revision starting end of Term 2 (if I recall correctly that is when Wang completed the P6 syllabus).
