Hi,

In the end i've chosen Heguru, as the teachers are local, i've heard reviews on shichida's teacher are mostly foreigners, like china and all. So i've turn to Heguru instead.

My gal has attended 3 lesson so far with Heguru, i can see that her attention spend has extended since the 1st day.

How old is your girl ? I am thinking of sending my 1 yr old boy to Heguru.
Besides local teachers, what other factors made you choose Heguru ?
What do they do in class, are there any 'homework' ?
How much is the classes and do they have trial classes ?
Thanks in advance !!

Hi, my gal is 1 yr 2mths now. Beside local teacher is that shichida only have 1 teacher in class whereas heguru got 2, but only i teach and the other assist. Every week they will share with parents what we can do when we r at home with our kids to enhance their learning process. But when i 1st went i was quite confuse as it wasn't like a brand new class where all start from A. (Every week they will learn a new letter) So like when i went it it was already N. That's the only part i don't like about it.
They don't have trial, so you either join them for a month or not kind of thing. classes is like $280/mth and registration fee is $100, and due to some holiday, they promise that they will definitely be 7 lesson in 2 months, so make it up to $80/ lesson, for an hour.
Shichida is slightly cheaper, but you have to pay for a parent class thingy, and also no trial for them , plus a waiting list (but waiting list can be skip if you pay in advance for the course.) Hope this will help. ^^

BTW, heguru is operated by different people, so all are franchises from Japan. ^^

My son is currently in pre-school class in Heguru, $342 per month (incld gst) but I find it a bit overpriced. My son (previously from Shichida) enjoys the lesson as he likes the teachers. Pre-school class has about 10 -12 children which is more than Shichida 6 children(max) . I will probably withdraw him from Heguru when he goes P1 next year.
Personally I feel Shichida is comparable to Heguru except for the teachers. Shichida has foreign instructors mostly from Philippines. As for the materials, some of Heguru materials are used across all ages. i would prefer Shichida materials.

Btw, my daughter is in Shichida, I let her try both Heguru and Shichida and feels that she concentrates in Shichida better. So it really depends how your kid relates to the teachers.
