MP3 music player

Do you ppl let your children have their own MP3 portable player? My worry is that when they use the ear phones, they may turn up the volume too loud. In the long run, I think the younger generations are going deaf.

I give my son a small mp3 media player with built-in speakers. He uses it to listen to the music CDs from his Yamaha lessons. There's also a recording function to allow him to record his playing on the keyboard so that he can play with himself in a medley :).

But you are right, we should avoid anything with earphones for the kids until they are at least 12 years old. Beyond that age, I don't think we have much of a control over what they can or cannot listen to :p

My kid is too small for mp3 players. But I don't think I will let him have one. It is bad for the ears and it distract them when they are listening and walking at the same time, it could be dangerous.
