Suitable for those who are happy with their existing phones. As the contract is short term, you can choose to change to other postpaid plans when you need to get a new subsidised handset.

But if one is working or has family in large corporations, likely they may have Corporate Individual Schemes (up to 3 lines per person). So far, works out to be cheaper than SIM only (when I throw in caller id display).

I am using M1, network has been quite stable compared to StarHub which i used previously. StarHub's signals runs very very low at certain places such as Bugis Street as i was there but unable to get any signal at all when my friends tried umpteen times to call me. Not too sure about Singtel's mobile network, but their internet modem has proved to be very horrible. Network is very slow and once my area starts raining, the connection will be cut off time after time. Hope this helps. :)

in terms of reliability, it is better than starhub. so far, m1 has been quite ok.

m1 offers nice numbers and they are brand new. many singtel numbers are recycled...received numerous calls asking for the prev user. i've been a singtel subcriber for a few years and changed numbers because of the nuisance calls. with 3 different numbers, i still received endless calls. switched over to M1.

You just turn on your wifi, join an available wifi and surf web, whatsapp, facebook, etc as per normal.
You only can't make normal phone call or sms without the SIM card.
