Okay, there is this smart programmer out that come out with this great idea.

He took the SAT english words, break them up into level of difficulty and you contribute 10 grains of rice to the hungry people. (endorse by World Food Programme (WFP) ,the United Nations frontline agency for compacting hunger )

Interesting site. Do you really think they will donate those rice? Also, the technology required to count rice to that level of confidence will probably cost more than the rice itself.

Well... no more complains... I learn some new words today. Useful? Hmm...

Tried it, interesting. But what is the motivation of this site? They say it is paid by the sponsors of the site. Doesn't seem to be alot of sponsors

They are sponsoring rice to the poor, not to us, so even if I is free burger, I won't get it.

Wonder if this can be a marketing gimmick to get advertising dollars?

I think they do get advertising dollars. While its not clear what is the percentage of money given to the poor, quite a lot of money is given because of the site. Wikipedia has an article on it :

Any way, they add more feature. You can actually listen to the pronunciation of the word. My son is too young, other wise I will make him play at least 20 words a day.
