Had the same thoughts but found none. Did you manage to find any?

It depends on the level of your children. Are they absolute beginners or do they already know a programming language and are learning another?

For starters, there are some programmes by Singapore Science Centre.

more for beginners... purpose is to use programming to train their brains to think systematically and logical flow.

If the child has interest, he / she can start learning basic from library books and online. There are educational software downloads available free for students. Eg. Auto desk http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/all

http://www.khanacademy.org/computing/co ... rogramming

It looks interesting, until you take a closer look at the game screens which says the games are made with "GameMaker Lite" or something. There is a difference between programming with a real programming language vs scripting. Might be better to invest your kids' time with learning Java and developing Android applications with that language.

You can try online courses. There are a few famous ones. Code.org is a good place to start. It is an initiative by the US to promote more female coders
