1/4 of the boys are in Group X and 1/3 of the girls are in Group Y.
There are as many boys as girls in Group Y.
How many boys and how many girls took part in the contest?
Hi,

Please check/confirm the numbers/fractions in the question.

Cheers

Can someone please help on this question? Thanks soo much!

Yvonne had 35% more money than Sufen but 20% less than Roy.
If Roy had $675, how much did Sufen have?

Hi belnanna,

One possible solution:

Roy → $675

Yvonne → (0.8 × $675)
[Yvonne had 20% less than Roy]

Sufen → (0.8 × $675) ÷ 1.35 = ??
[Yvonne had 35% more money than Sufen]

Can you solve from here?

Please let us know if you still need help.

Cheers

If each girl gets 3 rubber bands,

170 - 5 x 3 = 155

155/7 = not whole number (reject)

If each girl gets 6 rubber bands,

170 - 5 x 3 x 2 = = 140

140/7 = 20

20/2 = 10

10 x 7 = 70 boys

70 : 5 = 14 : 1

a) The ratio of boys to girls is 14 : 1

70 + 5 = 75 girls and boys

b) There are 75 girls and boys.

Please help! Thanks.

A group of people met at a party. Each person shook hands with everyone else. Mr Li shook hands with 3 times as many men as women. Mrs Li shook hands with 4 times as many men as women. How many men and how many women were there at the party?
